Thank you for your faithful support of the Missionaries who are serving the churches of the MBA of Texas.  Please be prayerful and keep in mind that we are spending more than we are receiving each month.

It was a great blessing to attend the commencement services for Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary on May 29, 2010.  It was great to see those young men who are preparing themselves to go out into Texas, and other areas of the world, to do the work that God has called them to do.  Perhaps, some day, one of them might be a missionary supported by the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas.  Pray for these young preachers as they seek the will of God for their lives.

The MBA of Texas has a newly upgraded Web Page.  Hopefully, you will like it.  You can check it out at mbaoftexas.org.  The presentations by Dr. Eric Spann and Todd Sadowski at the Missions Conference on Leadership and Church Growth can also be found on the new site.  It will be worth your time to listen to them.

Three souls were saved during our youth revival, and one young lady was led to the Lord by my wife, Jessica, to account for four total professions of faith this month.  Bro. Ken  and Sister Barbara Sibley did a wonderful job with our youth revival.

Satan has launched an all-out offensive against Grace Pointe.  Over the month of May, one of our regular visitors tried, unsuccessfully, to lead several of our core members to another church.  Satan is also attacking some of our younger members with discouragement.  The battle is the Lord’s and we will remain faithful.  Thank you for your prayers and support.

We had seven visitors in May.  We have been out visiting.  We are praying about starting an outreach in Pecan Grove Manor.  We were very blessed by receiving an offering that will help us through the end of the year.

We still have some major illness in our church.  My wife will have hip replacement surgery on June 25th.  Please pray for all of these.  Pray for our association, missions,

and missionaries.

We have needed our nursery during the month of May.  God seems to be bringing some new faces who have toddlers.  One of our men has been teaching the Men’s Bible Study.  They are studying “Be God’s Man By Claiming Your Freedom.”

Wednesday evening services are growing numerically.  Each week we have questions for homework in the Book of James.  Our teens were in charge of the Mother’s Day service.  It was great listening to testimonies of our young people and how much God has blessed them.  One of the newest teens has taken the responsibility of our sound board.  Thank you for your prayers and support.

In May we moved to Pasadena and it was very stressful for Martha and my children.

But I rejoiced when I see why we moved there.  Our Lord Jesus Christ provided everything we need through His churches.  I also rejoice because we are making plans to start a Wednesday service and to start home Bible lessons on Thursdays.  This program will help to reach the neighbors of our membership.  I rejoiced because our Lord saved two ex-Catholic people.  I plan to do discipleship lessons and next month we will plan to baptize them.

In May we visited several churches and it was a blessing and very enjoyable.  We visited Pastor David Thompson and Cypress MBC in Mt. Pleasant, Pastor Gerald Beckham and Landmark MBC in Porter, Pastor Mike Gribble and Kilgore MBC in Kilgore, and Pastor

Kevin Clinton and Liberty MBC in McKinney.  We appreciate the privilege of visiting.

J. D. GARZA AND VICTOR RICE

SAN ANTONIO

Our average attendance for the month of May was 12.  We were blessed to have Bro. Ken and Barbara Sibley do an outreach program at our mission location.  Our sending church, MBC of San Antonio, put out 500 flyers for the event.  We had 43 attend the outreach.  We did not have any additions to the bible study as a result of the outreach.  Please pray for those who received flyers that their hearts will be moved to attend the Bible study.  Please pray for our sending church and for the Garza family as they make preparations to attend the ABA meeting in West Virginia.  May the Lord richly bless all that assist in Texas  Missions.

BEREAN PRISON MINISTRIES

We are reporting sixteen (16) saved during the month of May.  I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support of this ministry.  The harvest is coming soon and now is the time to be reaping in the lost and dying of the world.  I have often said that I think it would give each of us a totally different view on life and the hereafter.    We have had over  2,300 souls saved since the birth of this work.  Bro. Sewell saves all the literature he gets from inmates so that has helped the ministry to grow.  Thanks to all and may God bless you.

JIM SLOCUMB

TEXAS MISSION DEVELOPMENT

We had another good month promoting TMD.  I led the music for the All The King’s Men Retreat.. I preached during a Faith Promise revival at Fairhaven MBC in Mesquite.  I preached at Vanderbilt MBC in Tyler.  Also, mailed out the TMD request ballots and attended a special service for Mexican Missions at Gallatin MBC.  I preached for the Central Texas Mission Council meeting hosted by Emmanuel MBC in Greenville. We made the 1st quarter presentation of TMD funds to Cedar Creek MBC of Corsicana.  The funds totaled $27,000.00 this quarter.  Thanks for your prayers and support.

Four of us are planning to travel to New Mexico to assist Cornerstone BC of Grapevine with Vacation Bible School June 26th thru July 1st.  This is the third year that God has permitted us to work with Bro. Jerry and Sister Connie Baker at Twin Lakes MBC in Gallup, NM.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  May God continue to richly bless you.

We received the gift of a Kimball piano from a church in Saltillo, Mississippi.  It has really enriched our song services.  My wife, Cindy, and I attended the Central Texas Mission Council at Emmanuel MBC in Greenville.  After hearing Bro. Jim Slocumb’s challenging message on missions, we came away with a renewed excitement about winning the lost for Christ.  I attended a golf tournament hosted by Faith MBC in Round Rock to raise money for their youth group.  We had an outreach that included a fish fry and a family game day.

We are also excited that we had nine first time visitors in May who continue to join us in each of our services.  The Lord added three new members to our fellowship.  It is really encouraging to see them coming back to worship with us.   Prayers are being answered.  We are outgrowing our current facility and we ask that you pray that the Lord leads us to the property that He would have for us.  We praise God for all your prayers and support.

We rejoice in God’s blessings for the month of May.  We were blessed with first time visitors and two precious souls who were saved.  We are truly experiencing I Cor. 3:9 “We are laborers together with God.”  We received the Texas Mission Development funds.  Texas Mission Builders and Macedonian Mission Builders are helping us now with the construction of the building.  The first week of June we will have the building in the dry.  We are so thankful for those who use their talents to build for the Lord’s honor and glory.   Please continue to pray for us as we seek to reach souls and touch lives in Longview.
